ABOUT ME

MY PAST

My name is Hannah Pham. I am a first-generation Vietnamese American and a daughter born into a family of refugees who fled Vietnam following the end of the American War in Vietnam and the Fall of Saigon. Though my parents first settled in the Midwest, they eventually made a home in Southern California. It was there that my siblings and I were born and raised. I attended Fountain Valley High School, where I led our tennis team as Varsity Captain.

I began my journey in healthcare by volunteering with the pharmacy and ICU/CCU at Western Medical Hospital in Santa Ana for three years. I also volunteered at Thu-Van Pharmacy, an independent, community-based pharmacy, for another three years.

I received my B.S. in Biochemistry from California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) in 2015. While there, I worked my way up to President of the Student Affiliates of the American Chemical Society (SAACS), where I led my organization to win the Student Organization of the Year Award and Organizational Management of the Year out of 300 recognized student organizations. We were also awarded CSULB's College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics $200 Grant and the American Chemical Society's Community Interaction $500 Grant for the program I established to improve the science learning experience of underrepresented minority and economically disadvantaged K-12 students. I also held positions as Vice-President of the Association of Pre-Pharmacy Club and co-editor-in-chief of The Beaker, a student newsletter for the chemistry and biochemistry department.

One of my greatest accomplishments in that time of my life was the founding and operation of Healthnuts and Handlebars, a group of three self-guided bikers who travel from Astoria, Oregon across ten states to arrive in Yorktown, Virginia. Across 81 days and 4,300 miles, we advocated on behalf of and fundraised over $15,300 for the Kevin Armstrong, M.D. Memorial Sports Foundation, a local charity.

I pursued my Doctorate of Pharmacy degree starting from the University of New England and completed it at Husson University in May 2023.

MY PRESENT

I began my pharmacy degree at the University of New England (UNE), where I led my class as Class President through several fundraising events in order to donate over $10,000 to The Dempsey Center: Cancer Care and Support Center; we were recognized for the largest donation to a charity from any UNE organization to date. I was also honored with the Student Leadership of the Year Award after my first year for all that I had done for my class and for the University itself.

Recently, I completed my Doctorate of Pharmacy and graduated in May 2023 from Husson University, School of Pharmacy. While at Husson University, I have held positions such as Regent (President) of Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity and Operations Women's Health Chair for our chapter of the American Pharmacists Association. In these roles, I have organized philanthropic events including but not limited to making sex/health kits for women residing in local homeless shelters to social events like pie-ing our professors for charity. During my final week at school, I was honored with the Graduate Student Leadership of the Year Award as well as APhA-ASP's Chapter Member of the Year Award.

MY FUTURE

My goals include focusing on more direct patient care while improving my clinical knowledge. I am open to exploring new experiences and conquering new challenges. I want to continue making a difference in my community, both inside and outside of my workplace. I am constantly looking for ways to improve both myself as a practitioner of healthcare and healthcare as a craft. I am eager to fulfill my dreams of positive change in my community, in healthcare, and in our society as a whole.
